Welcome to the Tidewater Chapter’s 2018-2019 fiscal year. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Angie Hetherington, our Immediate Past President, and the entire board for their dedication and service to this organization. A great deal of time and effort goes into making our Chapter a success. We measure our success by your continued support, your feedback through surveys from events, direct communication with our officers and interaction using our website. Our full board meets bi-monthly to discuss chapter events, plan continuing education and to address the needs of the Tidewater CPA community. This year, we are continuing to focus on bringing you quality continuing education options, the utility of our website and fun ways to connect with other accounting professionals in our area. We are an excellent resource for both quality continuing education and networking events. Our Chapter guarantees thirty-one hours of quality continuing education with various social events throughout the year. We held a post-busy season social a few weeks ago at The Board Room. The annual Tides game is planned for Friday, June 29th, a late summer or early fall networking event is planned and we will hold our annual holiday social. Student Night offers the opportunity for accounting students from local institutions to take part in round-table discussions with professionals in the public, private and governmental sectors. We use this forum to announce the scholarship awards for accounting student recipients.
Our website is now ready to begin accepting membership dues for this fiscal year. Please update your professional information while you are visiting the website. This is how we let you know about upcoming events. Chapter dues are a value at $170 per year. If paid by June 15, 2018, a $5 discount will be honored. Your continued membership ensures our Chapter’s continued success.
Click here to find the Ethics flyer listing dates and times for the mandatory Ethics training and the annual dues notice. Please remember the Chapter is 100% paperless, so all communication is via email.
I look forward to serving as your president and hope you will contact me with any recommendations to improve the Chapter’s value to our members.
